July 18, 1960 - September 9, 2011

Maria Blanch, a beloved member of the Fellowship of Friends, completed her task after a prolonged struggle with cancer at 7:00 am on Friday, September 9, 2011. Maria celebrated her fifty-first birthday on July 18th.

Maria joined the Fellowship in the Paris Center on June 30, 1982. She was also a member of the Madrid and London centers before moving to Apollo in the autumn of 1984.

Throughout her years at Apollo, Maria made the School, her Teacher, and the Work her most important priority. She demonstrated her dedication by serving steadfastly with Apollo Arts, and then with the weekly Teaching Events. In her final years, Maria continued to participate as much as her health would allow – her gentle presence could be seen at meetings, concerts, and dining at Apollo d’Oro.
